The First Nations Resources Hub is an online platform released by the Australian Institute of Architects to guide built environment professionals seeking to deepen their understanding and practice when designing with First Nations Peoples. As a First Nations researcher and advisor, Dr Danièle Hromek, in collaboration with the First Nations Advisory Committee, was brought onto the project to help bring together the Resource Hub. Djinjama worked to provide insight into the rich cultural heritage and contemporary challenges faced by First Nations when collaborating on built environment projects. We ensured that the platform provided educational materials and architectural guidelines for creating spaces that honour and reflect First Nations cultures. Cultural protocols were provided for engaging First Nations communities and acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of Country. Djinjama contributed to the goal of the Resources Hub to empower professionals in creating spaces and buildings that respect and celebrate the rich culture of First Nations Peoples.
Djinjama honours our connections to Country, community, culture and kin through our work.
