The Planning for Country Countermapping report was developed by Djinjama for Rossmore Grange. The report was funded by the NSW Government under the Marine Estate Management Strategy 2018-2028 and the Greater Sydney Water Strategy. The report brings together and describes the process of countermapping and how it informs the way engagement with local Knowledge Holders can be translated into land use and water infrastructure planning.
Djinjama was offered the opportunity to work onsite in Wianamatta, Western Sydney, in the Liverpool Council area called Rossmore Grange. Djinjama engaged with Country, community, culture and narratives to develop a series of recommendations for Rossmore Grange, including countermapping.
Djinjama honours our connections to Country, community, culture and kin through our work. Djinjama’s projects actively interact with lands, waters and air, and as such we actively protect the rights of Country to be healthy in our work. We respect Traditional Custodians who have long cared for Country and aim to elevate First Voices in all our work. We are grateful to Elders and Knowledge Holders for their continued sharing of wisdom, story, language, and knowledge.
